Dungeons And Dragons Group
Who is Group for?
- Teenagers, with or without a formal diagnosis, who want to meet new peers and explore the world of Dungeons and Dragons
- Each group is formed based on kids of a similar age and ability, who meet once a week
- The overall age range of this group serves ages 13-18
Time & Location: Dungeons and Dragons Group will be held in the basement of City Light Church (550 Obed Ave), and will be offered at two times (you will attend only at the time you register for)
Tuesdays 12:30-2:00
Thursdays 4:00-5:30
General Registration Info:
- There are 4-6 spots per group. Registration will be first come first serve
- If all spots fill up prior to your registration, you will be added to a waitlist
- We will do our best to add more groups based on the number of similar-aged kids on the waitlist
Current Clients: Must be approved by the child’s clinical team before registering. Clients must fill out a registration form for each module, which the Group Coordinator will email to all eligible clients, a couple of weeks before the start of each module.
New Clients: Please fill out our Waitlist Intake Form here and you will be contacted by our Director Victoria Coward to set up an intake call.
Screening: The Group Coordinator, Ikjot Kaur, will contact you to set up a 30 minute in-person screening. Ikjot will meet with your child one on one, then observe your child interact with peers at Little Steps Therapy Services. The screening costs $120. Finance-related questions can be sent to amber@mylittlesteps.net
Waitlist: Registration is open throughout the school year. Current and new Clients will be added to a waitlist for the next available group spot, if the current groups are full and/or if the registration form is filled out later than the module deadline.
Group Session Cancellation Policy: Please contact the office if your child is going to miss a session admin@mylittlesteps.net or (250) 386-1171. All sessions will be charged unless given withdraw notice of 2 weeks
Withdrawing from Group: Two weeks notice is required to withdraw from group.
Costs:
- Groups are $67.50/ hour or a total of $101.25 for the 1.5 hour group (1 session of group), billed weekly. This cost includes Clinical supervision from the Behaviour Consultant and a Behavioral Interventionist. Weekly update emails from the Group Leader and an end-of-module report will be provided. Additional needs billed separately.
Group Goals & Focus Areas:
- Neurodiversity affirming practice
- Weekly goal tracking and progress notes
- Focusing on problem solving, perspective-taking, teamwork, creativity, and planning
- Additional curriculums will be integrated as needed, within an interest-based approach, through naturally occurring teaching moments
