Teen Community Outings Group

Who is Group for?:

  • Teenagers, with or without a formal diagnosis, who want to meet new peers and explore the community and all the activities available.
  • Each group is formed based on kids of a similar age, who meet once or twice a week
  • The age range for this group is 13-18 years

Time & Location:  Teen Community Groups will run twice a week from July from 3 to 31,2025 Tuesdays/Thursdays 10:15-11:45 (in the basement of City Light Church – 550 Obed Ave).

General Registration Info:

  • There are 4-6 spots per group. Registration will be first come first serve
  • If all spots fill up prior to your registration, you will be added to a waitlist
  • You have the opportunity to choose the dates you would like your teen to attend
  • We require a minimum of 3 teens to run the session
  • We will do our best to add more groups based on the number of similar-aged kids on the waitlist

Current Clients: Must be approved by the child’s clinical team before registering.

New Clients: Please fill out our Waitlist Intake Form here and one of our Directors will contact you to set up an intake call

  • Screening:The Group Leader will contact you to set up a 30 minute in-person screening. The Leader will meet with your child one on one, then observe your child interact with peers at Little Steps Therapy Services. The screening costs $120. Waitlist: Registration is now open. Current and new Clients will be added to a waitlist for the next available group spot.

Session Cancellation Policy: Please contact the office if your child is going to miss a session admin@mylittlesteps.net or (250) 386-1171. All sessions will be charged unless given withdraw notice of 2 weeks

Withdrawing from Group: Two weeks notice is required to withdraw from group.

Costs:

  • Groups are $101.25 per 1.5 hour session. This cost includes Clinical supervision from the Behaviour Consultant, a Lead Behavioural Interventionist and an assistant Behavioral Interventionist. Weekly update emails from the Group Leader and an end-of-module report will be provided. Additional needs billed separately.
  • Additional costs may be billed depending on the outing/activity for the week.

Group Goals & Focus Areas:

  • Neurodiversity affirming practice
  • Weekly plans based on the Teens’ expressed ideas and interests
  • Focusing on problem solving, perspective-taking, self-advocacy, and community exploration
  • Additional curriculums will be integrated as needed, within an interest-based approach, through naturally occurring teaching moments
